MIXED MEDIA

IMAGINE. EXPLORE. CREATE.

I’m constantly exploring new ways to express the beauty that fills my world — from the mundane to the dramatic. I believe art should make the viewer pause and perhaps evoke a feeling of wonder...or look at something in a totally new way.

I paint landscapes, still lifes and people with a never-ending thrill of discovery. With my recent move from Boston to Chapel Hill NC, I’m adding to my memorable paintings of the New England coast with local Carolina scenes featuring the always-changing skies and magnificent color-saturated scenery. Most recently, I’m inspired by the voluptuous shapes of vegetables at local markets and stands.

My sculptures — inspired by the female form — voice my lifelong fascination with the sacred and spiritual, iconography and the feminine mystique. My work ranges from realistic stone and bronze torsos and ‘sacred vessels’ to my whimsical and provocative mixed-media bustiers.

My current work is the culmination of a lifetime of creativity.  I’ve had a long career in advertising and marketing, and have been an award-winning art director, graphic designer, author, illustrator and self-taught fiber artist.

I now paint, sculpt and play with mixed media in my studio located in a cracker factory in Hillsborough, North Carolina.

My work is featured in select galleries and private collections. I welcome commissions.

SCULPTURE

PAINTINGS

The sacred feminine shapes my creative vision. I have explored the female torso in sculpture, mixed media and paintings. Lately I’ve become obsessed with the bustier as an icon, fascinated by how it can seem to represent both repression and allure.
